7 Root Causes Of Weight Gain

If you are overweight, I am bloody sure you are onto something when it comes to your ambition of losing weight.

It might not be the best thing ever, it might not even be the solution to your problem. But you are trying in some way or the other, I am sure.

This is where people go wrong.

Say you have a huge gate that weighs 10 tons. You have to open it because your life depends on it.

If you start pushing at it′s hinges, it will start rotating slowly. So slow you may not even be able to realize.

If you keep pushing enough, there might be a considerable movement. However, it will be a long way before you open it.

Say, instead of applying force near the hinges, you apply force right in the middle, where the two gates meet.

You will be able to open the door much faster than you would have by pushing near the hinges.

1. Hormonal Imbalance

Most people do not really understand the real deal with hormones! People tend to think of only intercourse and sexual habits when they hear the word ‘hormones.′ But hormones has a lot to do with pretty much everything in your body. Your metabolism, your eating, your mood swings, your hair growth and a lot more is everything pretty much determined by hormonal balance. And the most primary cause of hormonal imbalance is lack of the nutrients causing hormonal imbalance i.e. an unhealthy diet causes hormonal imbalance. So bringing in a balanced, healthy diet into the picture removes hormonal balance and reduces one of the causes of weight gain!

2. Invisible Inflammation

Invisible is something which can′t be seen and invisible inflammation cannot be seen because it is happens within your body! It is happening right now as you read this! Your body keeps you safe and alive by fighting against various allergens, bacteria and microorganisms. In doing so it produces energy in the form of heat. Sometimes it so happens that your immune system is triggered and you are producing this energy, but your body forgets to switch it off and there is constant inflammation. You need to identify the causes of this chronic problem called invisible inflammation, because if you are overweight you most likely suffer from invisible inflammation.

3. Nutritional Imbalance

No-brainer, right? Easily the most important factor when it comes to determining the overall health of yours. I′ve seen people elimination complete food groups from their diets. For example – Vegans. I have also seen people completely eliminating carbs or fats from their diets. That′s not strike one or even strike two, that′s you out of the game! These nutrients – fats, proteins, carbs, vitamins – they exist for a reason, rather many reasons! Every nutrient has a well-defined function which it performs in your body. Eliminating carbs or fats is hardly the solution. You might lose weight at first but slowly you will lose your health too! A diet should have all the nutrients that are necessary for all the bodily functions. This is what is the best boost for weight loss and not the other way around!

4. Lack of Sleep

People consider only dieting, calorie counting or exercising as solutions to their weight problems. You will find posts everywhere titled ‘Dieting Vs Calorie Counting′ or ‘What helps more, dieting or exercising?′ But nowhere will you find a genuine article that says that a regular, patterned and adequate sleep will boost your weight loss like nothing else! The lesser, or the ‘irregularer′ you sleep, the more weight you gain!

5. The Bacteria in your tummy!

Bacteria is everywhere – on you, outside you and even WITHIN YOU! And as everything else in this world, bacteria are of two types – good and bad! A healthy person has a good bacteria to bad bacteria ratio as 85:15, anything upward of 85 means you are in excellent health. At the same time, anything considerably less than 85 means you should be a bit bothered. Good bacteria promote good health which in turn promotes weight loss. If your weight is in a spot of bother right now, you should start having ‘probiotic′ drinks! Probiotic drinks promote the growth of healthy bacteria which are beneficial to the body! Drinks like buttermilk, semi-solids like yogurt have naturally good bacteria in them.

6. Stress!

Research has shown that the obese populations of the world has increased in the recent years when stress at jobs started to emerge. Jobs these days are stressful and literally suck the life out of your life. And stress instigates stress! The stress in jobs of today has inserted stress in every sphere of life – relationships, parenting, friendships and everywhere else! So the stress levels of today are at peak and are only bound to increase with time. While the only way to escape stress permanently is to live the life of a hermit, it is not an option of any of us. So just disconnecting from the world by practicing meditation for a few minutes everyday or becoming a spiritual person by performing yoga for an hour or so daily are in the trend for their effectiveness in reducing stress substantially. Living a life with minimal stress means living a life with desired weight and a good health!

7. Toxins!

You cannot imagine how many toxic substances are residing in your body right now! Toxins are all the harmful substances that deteriorate your health. It could be defined as a biological poison. Just like stress, this is a major disadvantage of industrialization of the modern age. But do not just blame industrialization! The party you had last weekend with all those bottles of alchol and packs of cigarettes are also toxins that you are willingly administering in your body. Toxins are present in the smallest amounts in our water, food and even the air we breathe contains toxins! But it is important to note that even smallest amounts of toxins could be fatal, not merely harmful!
